Portable EV Charging BESS
For EV charging, home & light-commercial use
A 1–2 kW portable BESS (portable power station) is excellent for home and small commercial backup, site work, events, and slow / emergency EV charging (Level-1 / trickle charging or charging small electric scooters / 2-wheelers).
Get In TouchQuick Overview
Portable Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) provide flexible, mobile power solutions for various applications. While they cannot fast-charge modern passenger EVs (which need several kW to 100s of kW for DCFC), they are perfect for many practical uses.
EV Charging Reality Check
Typical household single-phase charging (Level-1) provides ~1.2–3.3 kW depending on supply and on-board charger; that means a 1–2 kW BESS will only provide slow charging (adding only a few km of range per hour) for passenger EVs — useful for emergencies or overnight top-ups, not for regular fast charging.

Typical Use Cases
Where 1–2 kW portable BESS excels in practical applications
Emergency EV Top-up
Level-1 charging for overnight trickle or range extension, best for small EVs, two-wheelers or plug-in hybrids.
Home Backup
Power essentials: lights, Wi-Fi/router, laptops, fans, medical devices, small fridge for short durations.
Small Commercial
POS systems, small office essentials, pop-up stalls, kiosks requiring portable power solutions.
Mobile Work & Events
Power for projectors, cameras, PA systems, tablet/phone charging at remote locations or events.
Field Service & Telecom
Keep critical communications equipment running during field operations or service outages.
Fleet Support
Fast deployment, portable charging for low-power EVs, e-bikes, and electric two-wheelers.

- Surge/peak capability: 2× continuous or more for short bursts
- Output waveform: Pure sine wave (mandatory for sensitive electronics)
- AC output: Configurable to regional mains (e.g., 230 V / 50 Hz for India)
Battery System
- Chemistry: LiFePO₄ (LFP) recommended (safety + cycle life)
- Usable capacity: 1 kW unit → 1–2 kWh; 2 kW unit → 2–4 kWh
- Depth of discharge (usable): Typically 90% of nominal capacity
- Expected cycle life: >2,000–6,000 cycles for LFP with good BMS
Charging & Inputs
- AC charge rate: ≥1,000 W (fast recharge from grid)
- Solar input (MPPT): Optional 200–1,000 W depending on panel plan
- Car/12V input: Optional for mobile charging
- Recharge time: 1-4 hours depending on input source
EV Charging Interface
- AC EVSE: Type-2 / J1772 / local standard for Level-1/2 charging
- Optional integrated wallbox: With current limit configurable for safe EV connection
- Important: For DC fast charging (50 kW+), a 1–2 kW BESS is NOT suitable
- Fast charging alternative: Containerized mobile BESS + high-power PCS required
